we%26#039;re doing this project in science, and we%26#039;ve planned to make an improvised ink. our main ingredient is the juice of pomegranate and orange. we%26#039;re done getting the juice but the only problem is the color. we tried it on paper but the consistency of the color is very poor. we need something for the color of the ink. we tried food coloring but using it will defeat the purpose of the juice because food coloring itself can be ink. please help me!
Is pomegranate a good ingredient for ink making?
If you find a way to create concentrated liquid.
You may try adding a fruit/vegetable powder that is red.
Reply:I once wrote a report for school using beet juice and a fountain pen. My english teacher enjoyed it. Fruit juices are a little difficult as ink because of their sugar. Beet juice has less sugar per amount of color compared to many fruits, but it still gets sticky when concentrated. If you can figure out how to crystallize out the sugar, you might have better luck? Also, most fruit colors turn brown when they oxidize, so don%26#039;t be too disappointed.
